It Is Never Too Late to Begin

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” — George Eliot

Opportunity is waiting. A door is always open.

You think it’s too late. Life has passed you by. You missed your chance to become who you aspire to be. It’s time to settle for the life you have.

Nonsense!

  • Dreaming of being an artist? Start creating.
  • Dreaming of being a writer? Start writing.
  • Dreaming of being a teacher? Start teaching.
  • Dreaming of being a musician? Start making music.

Is it starting to sink in?

  • Stop making excuses.
  • Stop the self-pity party.
  • Stop selling yourself short
  • Stop settling.

To become, you must begin.

  • Vera Wang debuted her first line of fashion at the age of 40.
  • Julia child released her first cookbook at the age of 50.
  • Harland David Sanders started KFC at the age of 62.
  • Anna Mary Robertson Moses started painting at the age of 76.

Some plants take a decade or more to bloom:

  • Kurinji
  • Corpse Flower
  • Queen of the Night

Some plants bloom with a spectacular flourish right before death:

  • Talipot Palm
  • Queen of the Andes

Late bloomers are everywhere if you look for them. And when they finally bloom, they are beautiful to behold.

Don’t despair over what might have been lost. Begin today and the best years of your life will be ahead of you.
